- Interactive Phrasebook - Language and Cultural Training
Interactive Playbook was the result of a OSD Phase I Small Business Innovative Research Grant (contract number: W911QX-07-C-0039, POC: Dr. Melissa Dixon). It is a prototype language and culture training tool which allows a human user to interact with virtual actors of foreign cultures by selecting phrases and gestures to rehearse militarily relevant scenarios. It utilizes SIFT's proprietary Etiquette Module (EQM) to enable dynamic human-actor interactions, and allows actors and scenarios can be customized to reflect the trainee's needs.
